Whānau and families are vital to the success of NZDF. They give our people the strength they need to serve and protect Aotearoa New Zealand, and to support nations all over the world who need our help. Force 4 Families is a community and support hub for the friends and family of NZDF personnel.

NZDF4U Wellbeing Support
All members of NZDF and the Defence community can contact NZDF Wellbeing Support for 24/7 confidential, external wellbeing support from an external health professional spanning telephone, text, email and face-to-face support.

NZDF Chaplains
NZDF Chaplains are available to personnel and whanau 24/7 and can help with:
Pastoral Care and Counselling, individual and family welfare support and liaise with Commanders and staff, other NZDF support agencies, welfare agencies, and referrals to external providers.
They can advise Command on matters affecting spiritual, moral, and welfare needs of personnel and their families and provide assistance in matters relating to deployment, supporting families during deployments, and assisting with post deployment reintegration.

NZDF Social Workers
Social Workers meet with defence individuals, their spouses and families.
The can help with; Support and advocacy, Health concerns, Career/Work concerns, and assisting you and your whānau with your needs.
They can also help with alcohol and drug issues, anxiety, self-esteem and Confidence, gambling , mental health and more.
Plus service changes or challenges like posting or relocation concerns, housing issues, deployment, career or work concerns.
